The Household Helper (Kasambahay) is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, orderliness, and general upkeep of the religious house and its surroundings. The position supports the daily household needs of the Sisters by performing domestic tasks such as cleaning, organizing, running errands when necessary, and attending to the comfort and welfare of the Sisters. This role requires a strong sense of dedication, confidentiality, respect for religious life, and a service-oriented attitude consistent with the values and mission of the SFIC Congregation.

General Housekeeping:

• Maintain cleanliness and order in all areas of the convent, including bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, chapel, living areas, dining room, and kitchen.
• Perform regular sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing of floors, furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces and communal areas in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Change bed linens and towels regularly and ensure proper storage of clean and soiled linens.

Assistance with Kitchen and Dining:

• Support the Cook and Kitchen Staff by helping with food preparation and basic cooking when required.
• Set up and clean the dining area before and after meals.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and food storage areas.

Laundry and Ironing:

• Wash, dry, and iron clothing, religious habits, bed linens, and other household fabrics.
• Organize and store laundered items properly and return them to the appropriate areas or persons.

Errands and Miscellaneous Duties:

• Run household errands such as grocery shopping, bill payments, or deliveries, when authorized.
• Assist in setting up rooms and facilities for meetings or events held within the convent.
• Help in caring for plants, small pets (if any), or tending to light gardening when needed.
• Alert the Sister-in-Charge of any needed repairs, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences in the household.

Conduct and Ethics:

• Maintain respect for the privacy and religious practices of the Sisters.
• Observe confidentiality regarding internal matters and the personal information of the Sisters.
• Adhere to community rules, schedules, and protocols set by the SFIC Congregation.
• Demonstrate a courteous, trustworthy, and responsible attitude at all times.

• Educational Attainment: At least high school level; senior high school education is an advantage but not required.
• Work Experience: Prior experience as a household helper or kasambahay is preferred; experience in a convent or similar setting is a plus.
• Skills Required:
• Basic cleaning and housekeeping techniques.
• Ability to follow instructions and routines.
• Basic cooking, laundry, and ironing skills.
• Organizational and time-management abilities.
• Personal Qualities:
• Honest, respectful, discreet, and reliable.
• Physically fit and capable of handling household tasks.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the religious community.
• Has a sense of mission and commitment to service.

 Working Conditions:

• Employment Type: Live-in (with accommodations and meals provided) or live-out arrangement, depending on the convent's needs.
• Schedule: Six (6) days a week with one (1) day off, subject to adjustment based on the needs of the community.
• Compensation and Benefits: In accordance with the Batas Kasambahay (Republic Act No. 10361) and the SFIC Congregation’s policies.
