I. OBJECTIVE & PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The purpose of this document is to define the statement of work requirements for a Senior Network Engineer (Wireless Networking) to manage WLAN operations and enhance company's global wireless network, ensuring optimal performance and connectivity across its enterprise and remote offices.

II. SCOPE OF WORK

• Wireless Network Management: Oversee the deployment, daily operation, and optimization of the wireless network architecture supporting company HQ and Field Offices. Collaborate with the IT Helpdesk to resolve incidents and work with partner vendors to enhance wireless connectivity.
• Network Authentication Server Administration: Build, configure, and maintain the Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network authentication. Implement best practices for secure access control across wired and wireless infrastructures, and conduct regular system audits to ensure optimal performance and alignment with the latest security standards.
• RF Survey and Optimization: Conduct Radio Frequency (RF) surveys to ensure wireless access points are configured with optimal channels, identifying and addressing potential RF interference and low signal areas. Optimize wireless network performance based on survey results and continuous monitoring.
• Scripting and Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts using Python to streamline wireless network operations and reduce manual intervention. Utilize Datadog for wireless network monitoring and performance analysis. Deploy Ansible for configuration management and automation of daily tasks. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance network efficiency through automation.
• Technology Roadmap: Assist Network team leads in developing a technology roadmap and executing proof-of-concept trials for new technologies that can benefit the IT department.

III. REPORTING LINE

The Senior Network Engineer (Wireless Networking) reports to the International Staff (IS) and National Staff (NS) assigned to the projects.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT

Expects the Senior Developer (Java) to have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Wireless LAN technologies, RADIUS/TACACS authentication, Cisco platforms, and RF survey tools, with a strong understanding of modern wireless infrastructure.
• Scripting, Automation, and Monitoring: Proficient in Python scripting, Ansible for automation, and network monitoring tools, particularly Datadog (Datadog Certified Champion is a plus).
• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to assess network performance, identify improvement opportunities, and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrates accountability, collaboration, and a results-driven approach.
