Description

The Welder (TIG) is responsible for performing precision welding, fabrication, and repair work to support production and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, molds, and plant facilities. The role requires expertise in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding, including stainless steel and aluminum, to ensure high-quality and durable welds. The Welder also assists in fabricating machine components, repairing pipelines, and maintaining auxiliary equipment essential to the manufacturing process.


  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals used in machinery and plant facilities.
  • Fabricate and repair machine parts, frames, tanks, molds, and structural components for production equipment.
  • Conduct precision welding on thin-gauge metals required in food-grade or rigid plastic container production environments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding specifications.
  • Ensure all welding work complies with safety standards and quality requirements.
  • Support maintenance and engineering teams in troubleshooting and repairing equipment that requires welded components.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks involving welded joints, piping, and brackets.
  • Inspect finished welds to ensure accuracy, strength, and quality standards are met.
  • Operate welding equipment and maintain proper care of tools and consumables.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • At least Vocational/Technical diploma in Welding, Mechanical Technology, or related field.
  • With 2–3 years’ experience as a Welder, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Proven experience in TIG welding (stainless steel and aluminum required).
  • Familiarity with MIG, Arc welding, and plasma cutting is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to set up and operate TIG welding equipment and tools.
  • Skilled in reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of welding standards, tolerances, and inspection methods.
  • Experience with fabrication, cutting, grinding, and finishing of welded parts.
  • Familiarity with maintenance of machine frames, tanks, molds, and piping systems.
