Job Description

The Gym Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the safety of all fitness machines (cardio and strength). This role is critical for minimizing downtime and maximizing the longevity of the gym's assets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Repair & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in fitness equipment using technical manuals and tools.
  • Preventive Maintenance (PM): Execute scheduled maintenance (lubrication, adjustments, parts replacement) to prevent breakdowns.
  • Safety & Compliance: Conduct thorough safety checks and ensure all repairs comply with safety standards and protocols (e.g., Lockout/Tagout).
  • Inventory: Order, track, and manage inventory of replacement parts, and maintain detailed repair records.
  • Communication: Clearly report equipment status and repair procedures to management and gym staff.


Basic Requirements

  • Experience: in a technical repair, maintenance, or electro-mechanical role is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, basic electrical troubleshooting ability, and proficiency with hand tools.
  • Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work (bending, kneeling, standing).
  • Soft Skills: Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and possess good communication skills.
