JOB DESCRIPTION

Senior Engineers are responsible for supporting the design, testing, and implementation of software solutions. This role involves assisting in both the development and quality assurance phases, ensuring that software products meet required standards and function as intended. The Senior Engineer will collaborate with senior developers and testers to write and execute test cases, identify bugs, and contribute to the development of new features. Candidates must have strong problem-solving skills, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate a passion for learning and growing within the field. The role is ideal for those early in their engineering career, looking to develop both coding and testing skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is self-organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and meticulous, with a strong sense of responsibility for quality, and possess the ability to work independently under pressure to thrive in this role. A keen interest in sustainability and the capability to navigate multicultural environments enhance their ability to excel.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with Testing Priorities:

1. Support Product Owners by managing and executing assigned testing tickets based on priorities.

2. Conduct manual UI tests, load testing, integration and regression testing, and API endpoint testing as required.

3. Provide support in testing operations, assist with documentation, and contribute to maintaining accurate records.

4. Review and analyze user stories and requirements to ensure they are valid and feasible for testing.

• Update Ticket Tracking System: Keep Jira updated with testing progress, results, and any issues encountered.

• Detect and Track Defects: Report software defects and inconsistencies, tracking them through the resolution process.

• Suggest testing process improvements

• Communicate with different stakeholders within the Software Development Team

• Assist/Mentor Junior Members of the Testing team

• Adherence to the testing process of the Software Development Team

• Create and execute complex Test Scenarios and Test Cases

• Contributes to the Creation of Test Plans

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• With at least 5-8 years of experience in software testing, including both manual and/or automated testing an advantage

• Knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.

• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum development processes and experience in cross-functional team collaboration.

• Experience with API testing (RESTful, SOAP), functional testing, UI/UX testing, cross-browser testing, regression testing, and web accessibility testing.

• Proficiency in testing tools such as XRay, Postman, JMeter, Selenium, and Jira.

• Experience creating and managing automation frameworks using languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI for automated test execution.

• Strong understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and experience with branching strategies.

• Experience in bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) with the ability to document and communicate issues effectively.

• Basic knowledge in SQL for database querying and backend validation.

• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Shell, PowerShell, or Python for automation tasks.
