Responsibilities of Sales Staff

Customer Engagement

Greet customers courteously and identify their needs.

Provide accurate information about products or services.

Build positive relationships to encourage repeat business.

Sales Performance

Promote and sell products/services to meet or exceed sales targets.

Upsell or cross-sell when appropriate.

Close sales efficiently and professionally.

Product Knowledge

Maintain thorough knowledge of products, pricing, and promotions.

Stay updated on new arrivals or changes in offerings.

Customer Service

Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally.

Ensure customer satisfaction before, during, and after the sale.

Merchandising & Store Presentation

Ensure products are well-displayed and shelves are stocked.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales area.

Transaction Handling

Process payments accurately (cash, card, digital).

Issue receipts and follow company procedures to prevent errors or fraud.

Record Keeping & Reporting

Maintain sales records and submit daily/weekly reports.

Report low stock levels or issues to management.

Compliance & Ethics

Follow company policies and legal regulations.

Act honestly and ethically at all times.

Teamwork

Cooperate with colleagues to achieve team goals.

Support new staff and contribute to a positive work environment.

Professional Conduct

Maintain punctuality and proper dress code.
