The Seamstress provides exceptional sewing, mending, and alteration services for guest garments, staff uniforms, and hotel textiles. In addition, this role supports the Linen Room operations to ensure the hotel’s linen supply is maintained at the highest 5-star standard. The position demands precision, confidentiality, and a strong service ethic consistent with luxury hospitality.


Responsibilities

  1. Perform alterations, repairs, and mending for guest garments with precision and confidentiality.
  2. Alter, repair, and maintain staff uniforms to ensure proper fit and appearance.
  3. Repair hotel linens, drapery, upholstery, and soft furnishings as needed.
  4. Assist with linen room operations, including sorting, organizing, and tracking linen inventory.
  5. Inspect linens for damage and perform timely repairs to extend their lifespan.
  6. Operate sewing machines, overlock machines, and perform hand-sewing techniques.
  7. Maintain sewing room cleanliness, equipment, and inventory of materials.
  8. Log and track sewing and repair requests, ensuring timely completion.
  9. Support fittings and measurement taking for staff or special requests.
  10. Provide excellent guest service by handling garment requests professionally and discreetly.


Job Requirements

Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a seamstress/tailor, preferably in a luxury hotel.

Strong machine and hand-sewing skills with ability to work on various fabrics.

Good knowledge of garment construction, alterations, and fitting.

Ability to repair linens and handle large textile items.

High attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship.

Strong organizational skills and ability to assist with linen room logistics.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.

High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.



Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
