- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly as they approach the checkout. Answer basic questions about store products, promotions, or services. Provide assistance and escalate customer concerns to supervisors when necessary.
- Transaction Processing: Operate cash registers, POS systems, scanners, and card machines. Accurately process sales transactions including cash, credit/debit cards, gift cards, coupons, and returns. Issue receipts, refunds, change, or store credit as appropriate.
- Accuracy and Security: Count cash in the register before and after shifts to ensure accuracy. Follow proper cash handling procedures and minimize errors or losses. Monitor for fraudulent activity and report any suspicious behavior to management.
- Store Operations Support: Bag items neatly and efficiently, ensuring product safety. Maintain cleanliness and order at the checkout counters. Replenish shopping bags, receipt paper, and other front-end supplies as needed. Assist with light stocking or floor duties during slower periods.
