We are looking for a results-driven and highly strategic Purchasing Manager to lead our Purchasing Department. This role is vital in ensuring the company secures the right products, at the right price, and at the right time while upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability. The Purchasing Manager will work closely with Warehouse, Branch Managers, Finance, HR, and OD to support business goals and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end purchasing process: sourcing, supplier negotiations, purchase approvals, and delivery monitoring.
  • Ensure integrity, honesty, and confidentiality in all transactions, maintaining a professional company image.
  • Develop, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to achieve favorable terms, discounts, and rebates.
  • Monitor branch purchase orders, deliveries, and inventory levels to avoid over-purchasing and ensure timely stock availability.
  • Conduct sales and market trend studies to guide product selection, pricing, and promotions.
  • Supervise and guide concessionaires’ contracts, returns, ageing merchandise, and re-phasing processes.
  • Collaborate with branches and warehouse teams to resolve discrepancies, delivery issues, and stock concerns.
  • Drive supplier performance monitoring, competition review, and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations to purchasing officers and ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Actively participate in management planning, meetings, and company initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in retail or FMCG.
  • Strong skills in supplier negotiations, market trend analysis, and inventory management.
  • Excellent leadership, decision-making, and people management abilities.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems or purchasing-related software is an advantage.
