Job Description

The Purchasing Officer will oversee canvassing and purchasing raw materials. Must ensure that supplies are available on time based on demands, especially sufficient supplies for everyday operations, and with approval of the management.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Canvass for prices of materials.
  • Submits canvassing done for approval of the management.
  • Prepares purchase order (PO).
  • Orders approved items covered by purchasing orders.
  • Negotiates with suppliers for best deals, price and terms.
  • Entertains suppliers' complaints regarding overdue accounts, if any and follows up delayed payments.
  • Makes service calls for repair of equipment.
  • Monitors updates and records purchase from the suppliers with contract.
  • Records purchase orders issued.
  • Follow up undelivered orders.
  • Records and forward signed purchased orders to the Accounting department for funding.
  • Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the superior.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of Business Administration or any 4-year course
  • With 5 years’ experience of purchasing preferably in a construction industry.
  • Strong communicator both written and oral
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Accuracy and detail oriented.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Proficiency MS Office  such as Work and Excel.
  • Can work with minimal supervision
