The IP Quality Specialist performs coding quality operational reviews on inpatient encounters, tracks and reports coder quality errors, provides real-time feedback to coders, and trains coders on coding and medical record systems as well as workflow processes.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Associates degree in relevant field preferred or combination of equivalent education and experience
• 5–7 years coding experience including but not limited to hospital outpatient and pro-fee encounters
• 3 years of experience in coding quality review work including but not limited to hospital inpatient, outpatient, and ProFee encounters

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field
• 7+ years coding experience

Required

• CIC or CCS and/or RHIT

Preferred

• Coding credential plus RHIT or RHIA
