To design, review and oversee mechanical systems for real estate development projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, building codes, safety standards, and sustainability goals. Support the planning, coordination and execution of mechanical works to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and according to required quality standards.

1. Mechanical Design and Engineering

• Design and review mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and related building services.
• Prepare, review and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, calculations and technical documents.
• Ensure mechanical designs comply with applicable codes, standards and project requirements.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize system performance and cost efficiency.

2. Project Support and Execution

• Coordinate mechanical works with architectural, structural and electrical disciplines.
• Provide technical support during construction, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals and method statements for approval.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure proper installation and adherence to design intent.
• Identify, analyze and resolve mechanical issues arising during construction.

3. Coordination and Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and consultants on mechanical-related activities.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on mechanical progress and issues.
• Support permitting, inspections and approvals with relevant authorities and agencies.

4. Quality, Safety and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with building codes, mechanical standards and safety regulations.
• Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control procedures for mechanical works.
• Promote safe work practices and compliance with site safety requirements.
• Assist in testing, commissioning and handover documentation of mechanical systems.

5. Planning and Documentation

• Assist in the preparation of mechanical budgets, schedules and cost estimates.
• Maintain accurate documentation including reports, drawings and as-built records.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned or delegated from time to time

Job Specifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, preferably with professional license or certification.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in real estate development, construction or Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) consultancy.

Specific Knowledge and Skills

• HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems; reading and interpretation of mechanical drawings and specifications; building codes and mechanical standards; project coordination and documentation; quality assurance and control; technical analysis and problem-solving; proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC design tools).
