Job Description

The Junior Interior Designer supports the Design Team in achieving departmental objectives and maintaining alignment with the company’s overall design strategy. They are involved in the development, execution, and improvement of design projects across the company’s brands. They are responsible for producing accurate design outputs, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines, and coordinating with stakeholders for timely and high-quality project completion. The Junior Interior Designer contributes to the creative process by researching design trends, proposing solutions, and assisting in the creation of design guidebooks and process flows that enhance project efficiency and brand consistency.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Plan and design assigned projects based on requested requirements, ensuring layouts and outputs are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Oversee project execution in coordination with contractors, suppliers and others, ensuring quality control, smooth turnover, and adherence to design plans.
  • Identify and propose process improvements, and resourceful solutions where needed.
  • Implement detailed design process flows, collaborating with all involved departments and individuals for seamless project execution.
  • Propose and implement visual merchandising guidelines for product/item display, as well as signs, window displays and promotional displays, with the goal of enhancing customer experience.
  • Utilize visual elements (e.g. props) that attract customers, in line with brand guidelines and seasonal demands.
  • Prepare and maintain design guidebooks per project, including specifications, approved working drawings, schedules, and design elements (paint colors, laminates, fonts, signages, mandatory spaces, and FF&E).
  • Ensure the Brand Design Guidebook is consistently included in project documentation for internal circulation, contractors, and mall administration.
  • Conduct market research and attend design shows or events to source new products, services, solutions, and suppliers for cost-effective and innovative design execution.
  • Review existing suppliers and recommend alternatives for better efficiency, quality, and feasibility.
  • Ensure all design deliverables meet brand standards, specifications, and project requirements.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in interior design, construction, or a related creative/technical field
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
  • Knowledge of design processes, working drawings, detailing, and construction documentation.
  • Strong eye for design aesthetics, materials, and finishes.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, able to communicate across teams and stakeholders
