Description

The role of the International Sourcing Assistant primarily focuses on importation, including sourcing of international suppliers, preparation of importation documents, coordination with foreign suppliers, forwarders, or broker, scheduling deliveries and shipments, and overseeing the receipt of purchased items.


  1. Source reliable items, including foreign suppliers and partners.
  2. Manage import documentation by preparing, reviewing, and processing import-related documents such as purchase orders, invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
  3. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of import documentation to prevent delays and penalties.
  4. Maintain organized records of all import transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
  5. Work closely with the foreign suppliers, forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams to expedite the importation process.
  6. Maintain control and ensure that all importation processes comply with corporate and local policies.
  7. Ensure all imported merchandise adheres to government regulations, customs policies, and industry standards.
  8. Assist in obtaining importation permits from the Philippine National Police (PNP) – Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) and renewal of Bureau of Customs’ Certification of Registration – Importations.
  9. Plan and oversee the transportation of items from foreign suppliers to local warehouse.
  10. Select and liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and brokers to ensure cost-effective and timely deliveries, and recommend to Executive Chairman for approval.
  11. Monitor shipment schedules to ensure on-time arrivals and minimize delays.
  12. Coordinate with broker regarding logistics-related issues, including demurrage, detention, and port congestion concerns.
  13. Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  1. College graduate of any 4-year business course.
  2. Work experience in importation is a plus but not required.
  3. Good communication skills (verbal and written).
