- Analyze the properties and performance of materials to determine suitability for specific applications.
- Develop new materials or improve existing materials for enhanced performance, durability, and cost-efficiency.
- Conduct failure analysis on materials and recommend solutions to improve reliability.
- Collaborate with product designers, engineers, and manufacturing teams to select appropriate materials for projects.
- Test materials using a variety of techniques and equipment (e.g., tensile testing, microscopy, spectroscopy).
- Ensure materials comply with environmental and safety standards.
- Document findings, prepare technical reports, and present results to stakeholders.
- Stay current with advancements in materials science and technology.
