Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the machine shop and engineering teams to ensure efficient operations and timely project delivery
  • Spearhead the implementation of the shop's schedules, work plans and quality control measures to meet customer requirements
  • Monitor equipment performance and maintenance, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
  • Provide technical guidance and support to CNC operators, machinists and engineers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify process improvements and optimize workflow


Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar supervisory role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Thorough understanding of machine shop operations, including CNC programming, tool and die design, and quality assurance
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering issues
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and leadership abilities
  • Proficient in project management, budgeting and resource planning
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and safety standards
