The responsibilities associated with this position include:

Cybersecurity Administration

• Gather and analyze data on current security measures for risk assessment, and regularly produce comprehensive system status reports.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and data analysis to identify potential threats to computer and network systems.
• Perform testing to uncover vulnerabilities and collaborate with the cybersecurity team to update defensive protocols as needed.
• Design and implement firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and other protective measures to secure SNAP assets and systems.
• Provide recommendations on software and hardware solutions to enhance information storage and security protocols.
• Configure endpoint protection systems, firewalls, and IPS, ensuring all software updates are current and stable.
• Oversee the system administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of endpoint security, network security, and access management system.
• Stay informed about the latest stable system firmware, antivirus, and malware databases to ensure optimal protection.

Incident Response

• Perform continuous monitoring for cyber attacks and execute appropriate defensive protocols in the event of a breach.
• Respond swiftly to data threats to minimize data loss and regain control of affected systems.
• Document findings from diagnostic tests and provide detailed reports on the circumstances surrounding cyber attacks.
• Identify security violations and inefficiencies through regular audits to strengthen overall security posture.

End User Support

• Assist in creating and implementing best practices for employees to minimize the risk of data theft.
• Grant access to servers and security appliances to authorized users, monitor access-related activities, and verify any unauthorized changes to information.
• Lead initiatives to train employees on preventing phishing and other cyber threats.
• Prepare performance reports and communicate system status updates to keep users informed.
• Promote adherence to and oversee compliance with Cybersecurity Policies and standards
• Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as required.

Requirements:

Skills:

• Deep knowledge of IT, including hardware, software, and networks
• Meticulous eye for detail and an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong abilities in critical thinking, problem-solving, logic, and forensics
• Excellent communication skills

Experience:

• Three to five years of experience in cybersecurity at a midsize or large company in the power industry
• Proven work experience as a Cyber Security Specialist or similar role
• Hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data and other attack artifacts
• Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions
• Proficiency with antivirus and security software, Firewall and Intrusion Prevention System Administration,SIEM and SPLUNK system administrations

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information systems, information technology, or related field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work successfully in both individual and team settings
• Ability to think like a hacker in order to stay ahead of threats
