Job Description

Description

Ready to Change the Bookverse?

  • Do you love books and believe in the power of stories to shape minds and culture?
  • Are you curious about what it’s really like to build a growing tech startup from the ground up?
  • Do you want to work somewhere your ideas aren’t just welcomed — they’re needed?
  • Are you fueled by a growth mindset and a desire to learn, build, and make things happen?
  • Do you want hands-on experience where you actually create impact — not just file reports?

At REKO (BookSpine Inc.), we’re building a new kind of reading experience — one that makes books and Filipino-authored literature more accessible, exciting, and meaningful to readers everywhere. We’re looking for interns who want to grow with us as we help reshape the culture of reading in the Philippines, elevate local authors, and improve reading comprehension through tech, content, and community.

This isn't just an internship. This is your Chapter One in reimagining what the future of books could be.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a BookVerse Catalyst, you’ll wear many hats (and maybe design a few). You’ll explore different roles, discover your strengths, and help us build systems, content, products, or communities — depending on what excites you most.

You may also be assigned to collaborative projects with our partner brands giving you direct exposure to real-world work, strategy, and campaign execution.

Possible specializations:

  • Marketing & Content Creation
  • Podcast Production & Promotions
  • Social Media Management & Community Building
  • Copywriting & Storytelling
  • Partnerships & Leads Acquisition
  • Product, R&D & User Testing
  • Tech & UI/UX
  • Admin, Ops & Documentation

You’ll also:

  • Collaborate with our core team on real startup projects
  • Learn how to build, iterate, and solve problems creatively
  • Receive direct mentorship from our leaders
  • Get space to grow and actually make an impact

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We’re not looking for experts. We’re looking for explorers — people excited to learn, try, fail, and try again.

This role is for you if:

  • You’re eager to learn and aren’t afraid to try things you’ve never done before.
  • You’re open to feedback and can take direction with grace — even if it means starting over and doing it better the next time.
  • You’re self-motivated, responsible, and can get things done without needing to be micromanaged.
  • You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving startup environment — where priorities shift and ideas are built fast.
  • You thrive on collaboration, but also know how to work independently.
  • You’re curious about the startup world, the book industry, or both — even if you're still figuring out your path.

Above all, we value coachability and a strong growth mindset. We can teach skills — but we can’t teach hustle, humility, or hunger.

We work best with people who:

  • Value authenticity over perfection
  • Have a bias toward action — we’d rather you try, fail, and learn than wait for the “perfect” answer
  • Believe in continuous improvement and learning by doing
  • Communicate clearly, consistently, and with radical candor — whether it’s feedback, updates, or asking for help
  • Care deeply about the impact of their work — especially in empowering readers and elevating Filipino literature

Bonus points if you:

  • Are a student looking for OJT or real-world startup experience
  • Are a reader, writer, tinkerer, creator, or someone who simply loves solving problems
  • Have a love for books, tech, startups, or storytelling (but no pressure)
  • Are resourceful, reliable, and comfortable figuring things out on the go
  • You’re excited to work with a team that values authenticity, purpose, experimentation, and impact

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 4-month internship commitment
  • Hybrid setup: must be available to work onsite 2-3 times per week near Greenhills, San Juan
  • Preferably full-time intern or OJT
  • Must bring your own laptop

PERKS & BENEFITS

  • Flexible work hours (we trust you to get things done)
  • Hybrid setup with an open, collaborative workspace
  • Daily allowance (Paid internship)
  • Unlimited coffee and strong Wi-Fi at the office
  • Access to free startup, marketing, product, business, and personal development resources
  • Exclusive invites to community events and trainings from our startup ecosystem partners
  • Exposure to real projects, campaigns, and product development sprints

  • Let us know which areas you’re interested in exploring — and why you think you’d make a great BookVerse Catalyst.
