Job Description: Accounting Manager

Objectives:

To provide strategic financial leadership by overseeing the group's daily financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, safeguarding company assets, and driving financial performance. Committed to mitigating risk, optimizing capital structure, and delivering accurate financial reporting and analysis to support executive decision-making. Dedicated to leading and developing a high-performing finance team while maintaining strong relationships with government bodies and ensuring the integrity of all financial transactions. Manage the group's daily financial operations, including accounting, tax, treasury and financial reporting.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement the organization's overall financial strategy.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executives.
• Lead long-term financial planning, scenario modeling, and strategic decision making.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities and propose mitigation strategies.

2. Financial Management & Reporting

• Produce accurate and timely financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Present financial results to senior management.

3. Budgeting & Cost Control

• Lead the budgeting process and monitor performance across business units.
• Analyze variances and implement cost-optimization strategies.
• Support the heads in budget formulation and financial decision-making.

4. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and liquidity.
• Oversee investment decisions, funding strategies, and capital structure management.
• Ensure optimal utilization of financial resources.
• Payment governance and vendor oversight - Verification of all payments - checks or via online banking and endorsement of for approval to the Approving Officers. Ensuring that all payments are compliant with the company's requirements.

5. Internal Controls & Compliance

• Establish and maintain strong internal control systems for various business units.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies, tax laws and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee/Ensure timely statutory filings and tax compliance.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Manage internal audits and risk assessments.

6. Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, develop and mentor the finance and accounting team.
• Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

7. Operational & Strategic Support

• Provide financial analysis to support business operations, pricing, investments, and new projects.
• Evaluate business performance, market trends, and key financial indicators.
• Execute special assignments and support strategic initiatives as requested by management.
