We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the company’s accounting operations within the transportation service industry. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, ensuring compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements, and providing accurate financial information to support operational and strategic decisions. The role requires strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of cost controls related to fleet operations, fuel expenses, and service revenues.


Key Responsibilities:

The Accounting Manager will supervise daily accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll coordination, and month-end and year-end closing. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The Accounting Manager will monitor transportation-related costs such as fuel, maintenance, tolls, and fleet depreciation, and will implement internal controls to safeguard company assets. The position also requires coordination with external auditors and regulatory agencies, as well as ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and industry regulations. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will lead and mentor the accounting team and work closely with operations and management to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-efficiency initiatives.


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant accounting experience, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity

• Prior experience in the transportation, logistics, fleet management, or service industry is a strong advantage

• Proven experience handling the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting

• Hands-on experience in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Experience coordinating with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory agencies

• Strong working knowledge of tax compliance, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements

• Proficiency in accounting systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions and financial analysis tools)

• Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes, particularly in operationally intensive environments


Skills and Competencies

• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying cost variances and operational inefficiencies

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial records and reports

• Solid understanding of cost accounting, including monitoring fuel costs, vehicle maintenance expenses, fleet depreciation, and service revenues

• Ability to design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

• Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination with management, operations, and external stakeholders

• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in decision-making

• Strong ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality and compliance

• Proactive, results-oriented mindset with the ability to support management in financial planning and strategic decision-making.
