Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with PFRS and local regulatory requirements
• Ensure accurate General Ledger (GL) management, account reconciliation, and closing activities
• Maintain asset registry
• Coordinate external audits and liaise with independent auditors

Regulatory Compliance (Energy Sector)

• Ensure compliance with filing and reporting requirements
• Support financial data submissions
• Prepare cost reports aligned with ERC-approved tariffs, financial models, and allowable expenses

Tax Compliance & Government Reporting

• Oversee all BIR filings: VAT, EWT, Income Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, excise (if applicable)
• Ensure proper documentation for imported equipment, tax incentives, and VAT zero-rating (common for renewable energy developers)
• Manage compliance reports (if required)

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control

• Lead annual budgeting and financial forecasting processes
• Monitor OPEX and CAPEX for energy infrastructure projects, including EPC contracts and long-term maintenance agreements
• Evaluate cost structures, tariff recovery, and financial viability of energy operations
• Support financial modeling for new projects and expansion (e.g., renewable energy facilities, power plant upgrades)

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

• Establish and maintain strong internal control systems aligned with regulatory and audit standards
• Develop accounting policies and procedures tailored to energy-sector operations
• Implement ERP or financial systems enhancements (SAP)
• Ensure proper controls of inventory

Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise the accounting team: AP/AR, GL, tax, payroll, and project accounting
• Provide training on energy-sector accounting, regulatory updates, and compliance protocols
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, regulatory, legal, commercial, operations)
