The IT Project Controller will work closely with Project Managers to define project goals, manage budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial compliance throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate across multiple teams to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Work directly with Project Managers to define project goals and objectives
Identify and maintain project schedules and budgets
Ensure projects operate within set Profit & Loss targets
Monitor and control project costs relative to timelines and milestones
Provide recovery plans in cases of budget or schedule deviations
Coordinate with hardware, software, and commissioning teams for milestone tracking
Generate management reports and profitability analyses
Recommend actions to improve project progress and performance
Provide project finance reporting
Collaborate with Billing & Collection Officer to ensure milestone-based billing execution
Ensure adherence to company financial policies and compliance requirements
Expectations on the Job:
Budgeting:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for each project activity as per project offers
Approve and monitor budgets to avoid overspending
Adjust budgets in response to scope or requirement changes
Cost Tracking:
Track actual costs incurred per activity and project scope
Compare actual vs. planned costs to identify variances
Provide detailed expense reports for management review
Deviation Control:
Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs
Implement corrective actions to align expenses with budgets
Forecast future costs and adjust plans accordingly
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field
1-3 yrs working experience.
Proven experience in project controlling, cost control, or project accounting
Knowledge of project management tools and financial systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Familiarity with project management systems and tools
Ability to consolidate and analyze information from multiple sources
Knowledge of facilitating purchase requests and reviewing them for technical accuracy and budget alignment
