Role outline: (About the Role)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our finance department and offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth. The Accountant will assist in managing the financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial information, supporting the finance team in daily operations, and contributing to financial reporting.


Key Areas of Responsibilities:


  • General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately
  • Journal Entry: Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments, in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage payments, and ensure timely collections. Reconcile accounts as needed.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Data Entry: Accurately input financial data into accounting software and maintain financial databases.
  • Fixed assets – maintaining and reconciling fixed asset
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual tax compliance
  • Client invoicing - ensure that computation is accurate and sent on the required deadline
  • Payroll - ensure computation is accurate and payslips are released on the date of the payout
  • Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as needed
  • Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations and identify areas for improvement and efficiency before and during audit.
  • Financial Reporting: Support in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Assist in variance analysis and reporting.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct preliminary analysis of financial data to support decision-making.


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven 2 to 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks and Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
  • Strong ability to analyze financial information and identify discrepancies or trends.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Meticulous and highly accurate in handling financial data.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
