About Company
Mount Carmel Rural Bank, Inc. (MCRBI) is the result of the merger and consolidation of two rural banks: the Rural Bank of Mataas na Kahoy, Inc. and Lipa Public Bank, Inc. (formerly Lipa Public Savings and Loan Association, Inc.). Established on November 21, 1966, MCRBI was authorized to operate by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). Registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under Registration Number 14058 on October 6, 2008, MCRBI commenced operations on January 5, 2009, and has since been recognized as the largest rural bank in the Province of Batangas since 2019. The head office is located at J.M. Kalaw St., Barangay 5, Lipa City, Batangas. To date, MCRBI operates across the CALABARZON region, encompassing Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, and Rizal, with a total of seventeen (17) branches and eight (8) branch-lite units (Blus). Looking ahead, the bank plans to expand its operations into the Region 4-B MIMAROPA area and aims to establish a presence in banking operations nationwide. MCRBI’s core offerings include various deposit products such as regular savings accounts, basic deposits, regular time deposits, and long-term time deposits. The bank also provides a range of loan products, including agricultural loans, personal loans, and business loans tailored for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Its primary mission is to act as a catalyst for community development by extending rural credit to small farmers, tenants, and deserving rural industries or enterprises while adhering to the guidelines set by the BSP. Committed to delivering an excellent customer experience, MCRBI embodies its brand promise as the “Ka-Partner mo sa Pag-Asenso.” This commitment stems from a deep understanding of client needs and a dedication to providing specialized, problem-free, personalized, and prompt solutions. The Bank aspires to be the “Preferred Rural Bank in CALABARZON,” evidenced by the growth in its loan and deposit portfolios and a high client retention rate. Over its 58 years of service, MCRBI has garnered numerous recognitions, awards, and citations from partners and funders, including Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), Philippines Veterans Bank (PVB), United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB), People’s Credit and Finance Corporation (PCFC), Small Business Corporation (SBC), and Rizal Commercial Bank Corporation (RCBC), for the effective implementation of its microfinance program. Since 2020, MCRBI has also been one of the largest fund recipients of the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Credit Policy Council (DA-ACPC) in the CALABARZON region, supporting various programs aimed at providing financial and capacity-building assistance to small farmers, fisherfolk, and agricultural and fishery-based entrepreneurs in the area.
