The SM Food Retail Group enters mini-mart retailing through a partnership with Alfamart. Known as one of Indonesia’s leading mini-market chain operators with more than 15,000 branches across the country, Alfamart’s success is in offering basic necessities and other last minute purchases to customers in an easily accessible and comfortable mini store set-up. With the addition of Alfamart, SM is able to cater to new sets of consumers untapped by more conventional retail formats.
Alfamart offers basic groceries, select SM Bonus products, fresh items, and personal hygiene products at affordable prices. It also has a bills payment counter and a prepaid loading station for added convenience to shoppers. Alfamart stores are situated within neighborhoods and near public transport terminals for added accessibility to residents, tourists, small food retailers, and more as needed.
Today, Alfamart has already surpassed the 1000-store mark, opening its first stores at the south of Manila; Cavite, Las Piñas, Imus, and Muntinlupa. And similar to the previously opened stores, the succeeding branches to be opened will also be located in high-traffic and very accessible areas where the demand for quick, easy, and friendly service is very much appreciated.
